Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is the concept of integrating current best evidence with clinical expertise, pathophysiological knowledge, and patient preferences to make health care decisions.
The aims of this course are to enable participants to:
- Obtain an overall view of EBM, understand the problems of implementing EBM and identify possible solutions.
- Describe the process of seeking and using evidence, including the ability to formulate an answerable question, develop a search strategy to answer the question, critically appraise and use the evidence.
- Identify different types of clinical, medical and cost analysis research and understand how to interpret and appraise the findings from these research.
- Ask a focused research question in literature review, understand how to carry out and interpret systematic review and meta-analysis research.
